The grade or slope of a property should be one of the first considerations when planning a new construction or renovating the existing landscape. This is why the yellow machines are the first thing we see at construction sites.
Proper grade (correct elevation changes) can result in a well founded property that can be easily maintained and enjoyed for years to come.
Reasons for grading or sloping could include:
Sod Installation
Uneven ground
Improve drainage
Site prep
Erosion prevention/minimizing
Grading usually takes place between elevations. During new construction this will be between surveyed stakes. Established properties calls for grading between given structures such as a driveway, house, trees fences etc.
On some sites it is possible to use existing material by moving high spots into low areas. Other sites will require the import of soil. Fill dirt and topsoil are proprietary materials and should be used as such. Filling a sinkhole with topsoil will in most cases be the wrong application.
We employ a laser and a single slope laser on some occasions in order to achieve a desirable grade.
